Ahhh what a brilliant day out this was in half term!

The home of the world famous sheep race, The Big Sheep Family Attraction literally has everything you are looking for in a day out.

They have Devons largest rollercoaster, a huge swing ride, bouncy pillows, tea cups, quad bike rides, pedalo swans, a tractor safari, small train rides, ride on electric tractors… honestly the list goes on.

One of my favourite parts of the day was the sheep shearing display, and the sheep show where all the different sheep run onto stage - on their own - to stand on parade!! They are amazing. And HUGE! (I can see why it’s the "Big Sheep" now).

Honestly it was all fascinating. But the best part of the day was the sheep race. These sheep were orange for a start (in honour of pumpkins for Halloween) and were giving it all they had to get to the finish line - with tiny jockeys on board! It was brilliant.

There are so many animals to see and feed on your visit and so many indoor places to shelter from either the rain or the heat, that you really need two visits to make sure you don’t miss anything. And the animals are really well looked after which is so important to us.

They have a large indoor soft play that you could spend hours in (well the kids could) plus they had a spooky disco and pumpkin carving on our visit.

Christmas promises to be just as good with Christmas markets (FREE ENTRY), and Christmas music sessions for preschoolers - and so much more festive fun packed in.

And the food was great there and good value too! Which is also important.

I wish we lived closer!

It’s a brilliant day out and easy to visit if your staying in North Cornwall or in Devon. I 100% recommend you visit. We loved it.

We loved it here. Even though it was a monsoon of rain the kids loved it. Even the teen one. They loved the interaction and hands on with the animals and the show was so educational! The racing is the best too! Great value and lovely way for all of the family to learn about the different types of sheep. The adults loved the taste of the drink too!

We loved this place, so good for smaller children too who can engage with the animals and go on some of the smaller rides including the train and tractor. The sheep parade was so funny the MC had us in stitches with his descriptions and my little girl loved feeding the sheep their milk as did I, a lot of fun for all the family! We went the week before half term so it was a bit quieter and it was close to Halloween so they did a lovely, very cheap activity for the kids of pumpkin carving and had it all set up really well including a photo op area. It was perfect for a wet day, with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including a soft play indoor area too. Only thing I’d suggest is more options for food, the menu was a bit limited and maybe slightly healthier options too would be great, but overall we’d highly recommend this place and will be going back next down we’re down that way.

Such a fab day out! Both our girls loved it and so did we. The shows were brilliant and my eldest still reels off a load of sheep facts now! It felt really safe and spacious to be walking around, particularly the farm yard area. We’d taken a picnic but the food offering looked great so would eat there next time. There are a few rides which were great fun too!

We absolutely love the big sheep & regularly visit. For under 5s look out for toddler take over days which run on various dates throughout the year & are fantastic value with special toddler activities & entertainment. Big sheep is a great place to spend the day rain or shine. Large soft play area which my 4 year old happily runs about on his own, animal barn with the cutest baby animals (depending on time of year) & a little train, tractor ride is fab takes you to see some of outside animals, driver is always humorous! Piggy tractor is a favourite of my littles , also outside your have bouncing pillows, trampolines, football, pedal go karts, swingboats, honey bear ride, pony rides (selected times), rollercoaster, swan boats, carousel swings, & laser tag (additional charges apply). There are two restaurants on site both do a good selection of hot/cold food for adults and children. As if all that wasn’t enough they also have some great shows run by fabulous entertaining staff featuring ducks , sheep dog, lamb feeding ect. Well worth a visit , if you’re local I’d recommended looking into a season ticket (pay monthly or annually) amazing value & great themed days out throughout the year they go all out for Halloween/Christmas.

The BIG Sheep is one of North Devon’s biggest family days out and there are lots of rides, attractions, shows and eateries to keep you entertained and well fed throughout the day. The Park opens 10am - 6pm each day and is suitable for all ages. There is good wheelchair/buggy access. Admission prices between 1st April – 1st November 2019 On-the-door prices - Discounts available for tickets purchased in advance online Adults – From £14.95 Children over 3ft – From £14.95 Children under 3ft – From £6 Babies under 12 months – From £2 The rides are great for kids 2+; There is a piggy ride where little piggy carriages are pulled around by a big pink tractor, a carousel, honey pot spinny ride, tug boats, swan pedalos, bouncy pillows, the twister and of course - North Devon’s biggest, highest and fastest rollercoaster Rampage! There are two rides that take you around the park, the tractor safari, which takes you to parts wouldn’t see unless you went on - and also the Train, which departs from Eweston station and circles Swan Lake. The Ewetopia Indoor Playground is great fun with a range of ball pits, slides, climbing areas etc. for kids of all ages. There are tables for mums/dads/belongings, and a café. The main restaurant (shepherds Restaurant) is situated near the entrance and serves a lovely selection of freshly baked cakes, sandwiches, sausage rolls, pasties, paninis, chips etc – (the food is lovely – nicer than in the Ewetopia café.) Dotted around the park are huts that stock a good selection of locally produced ice-cream, along with the usual slush puppies, drinks and packaged ice-creams. The huts serve ice creams £2 for a single scoop, £3 for a double, and also do a baby cone for £1 which was perfect for my boys! There are lots of different shows throughout the day which are well announced as well as an animal barn where you can make a fuss of sheep and lambs, pigs, ponies, goats, puppies, rabbits, guinea pigs etc. All of the animals are really friends and you can feed the sheep right out of your hands (food is sold in bags at the front desk). There are loads of handwashing facilities dotted around, which all had well stocked soaps and blue roll. Toilets were clean and easy to find. Most things are included in the entry fee, however there are the odd few electronic cars which need £1 to run – so take a few £1 coins in with you if you are unable to pass such things without toddler tantrums! There are also pony rides for kids 3+ and these are £1 too. You could easily spend a full day here rain or shine. Many of the attractions are outside – and it’d probably be nicer to visit on a day it wasn’t constantly raining but if it is, there’s plenty to keep you entertained indoors too.

Great place to visit in the Spring and Summer. Lots of different activities, feed the lambs and watch the sheepdogs at work. You can go on the rollercoaster or ride around the park in the train, great for all ages. We also visited Santa here at Xmas, which is done very well. Do not expect all areas and attractions to be open during the quiet season.

Great for all ages especially the younger ones. Loads to do from feeding the animals (extra for a bag) to rollercoaster rides and little train rides. Ours especially loved the tractor ride and pig tractor rides. Although you pay to get in (and can use clubcard vouchers) some of the rides still have a slight charge, so watch out as the kids can draw you in. We were lucky enough to take part in their annual Easter egg hunt so they got a big chocolate egg at the end. Take a picnic, loads of space to sit down and enjoy the surroundings but their is a nice cafe.

Lots to do - electric ride on cars, indoor soft play, tractor rides, go-karts, boating lake, sheep racing, water-balloon fight area, roller coasters, duck displays and more! Definitely a whole day of fun. Pick up a copy of a local paper for discount vouchers. Also offers discounted entry to Blue Peter badge holders.
