Heaton Park

Heaton Park

Open today from 0800 until 0600

It's got 2 cafes and an additional nice one in the garden centre on the outskirts shhh! A Train around the park .A lake to feed the ducks and take a boat ride. Also a Free animal petting farm so when funds are tight take a picnic and feed the animals and learn ll about them from the staff. They have recently put up a treetop trek with zipwires etc (charges apply) and often have fairs etc throughout the summer . They are putting in a 'beach' funfair for the summer months. We could spend all day there. Often various classes and meets happen here throughout the year

I couldn’t not give this park 5 stars. It’s always been in my life since I was as old as my kids are now and it’s like part of our family. Well, it’s the biggest Park in Europe (so my mother tells me every time we go) so there is more than enough space to roam around in and we can bring the dog along. There are a few play areas dotted around, a boating lake if you fancy hiring one, a farmyard which is free of charge, a little train tour, the Heaton Hall which you can look around as well as some lovey cafes to eat at. They often have events on such as drama clubs, astronomy clubs and numerous fairs throughout the year as well as hosting the Parklife Festival (if you parents fancy having a boozy weekend haha). It’s our go to place for everything play on the park, see the animals, feed the ducks, have a bank holiday picnic, we’re always there.
