At Thrift Farm there is so much for you to see and do! Spread over a 52 acre working farm our attractions include the Farm Park, Café and Gift Shop.

Thrift Farm offers work-based support to clients with learning disabilities and mental health issues, who work across all areas of the farm to build their skills and independence. Our highly skilled and specialist members of staff support the clients and help them to progress in their chosen areas. By visiting Thrift Farm you will also be supporting the great work we do with our clients.

Come and meet a whole host of different creatures: from the traditional farm livestock such as sheep, goats, pigs and chickens to the more exotic rheas and alpacas. We also have smaller animals, such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We have an outdoor play area, including a small wooden assault course and an antique tractor for your little ones to climb all over.

Our gift shop sells delicious free range eggs, from the chickens, ducks and geese at the farm, as well as Thrift Farm produced meat and also a range of toys, cards and gifts at amazing prices and much more.

Why not visit our café? Serving delicious homemade food and drinks at great prices. Treat yourself to a sumptuous slice of freshly baked cake, or simply drop in for a cappuccino. Kid’s lunchboxes are available here to eat in or take out to the Farm Park. You are welcome to bring a picnic and linger as long as you wish, we have picnic tables sited right next to the children's activity play area.

Our animal adoption scheme includes a 20 minute session with your adopted animal as well as free entry to the Farm Park plus a goody bag and much more besides and all for just £30.

Throughout the year we also hold special events where we can promise even more fun - keep an eye on our Facebook page for even more details of the next one.

I absolutely love this farm and all that it stands for HOWEVER! I was so disappointed last time I went (March 2021) that the focus was no longer on the animals but on the new playground. For us the animals were always the main attraction and being able to feed them in the field was lovely. Now there’s a fence, a grass gap and an electric fence between you and the animals. Yes there are a few you can feed in the barn but with current restrictions in place there is a one way system which meant I felt hurried along so as to not cause a backlog. That can’t be helped but I do wish we could feed the animals in the fields again. As it is it felt alot like I’d paid £15 (or similar) for the playground.

This place is a fantastic day out for a good price - lots of animals to see and petting stations for the little ones to get involved in - the upgraded new park is AMAZING and you can spend hours there on a warm day. The Cafe is also super reasonable. Lots of parking, lots of toilet facilities, very pram friendly. Cannot wait to return after lockdown !

Lots of different animals to feed (if you buy the feed for £1) lots of open space to run about in but also good for keeping a safe distance especially in the ongoing pandemic. Staff were friendly and the cafe had local produce to buy and take home as well as serving. There was also a toy selection which was great for my nearly 2 year old who doesn't like to sit still without a reason! :) The play area was well equipped with sanitiser as well as many stations around the farm. Was a lovely afternoon out

My friend booked tickets online, we had slot for 2pm, prices have gone up a bit £6.50 child 7.50 adult animal feed £1 Fairly busy when we arrived but still plenty of car spaces. For those who are interested in Covid saftey measures⬇️ Cafe was well social distanced, few tables inside, Plus outside seating. Order at till on a table, clear marking on floor. take away orders to get from collection stations. Eat in - they bring to your table. One way in & out as you pass ticket office. All sign posted. Arrows on floor in the goat barn. Plenty of washing & antibacterial stations. No Masks worn at all anywhere. (Which I was so happy about 😄) We had a great couple of hrs although our boys were grumpy 😬 Animals were all out & happy, lots of goats, & guinea pigs. Rabbits, chickens, pony's, pigs, mumma cow & calf's, sheep. Potbelly pigs. The playground has been re-vamped big style, since I went in 2018. It's moved over on the big field along with the big red tractor. Great big slide in older area and bridge, It's got smaller equipment for younger kids. One of round spaceship types swings.🤷‍♀️ All in a big sandpit with bucket pulleys ect. Lots picnic benches and very spacious. Next to to the barn with the goats there's an area with peddle ride along tractors. the area where a tractor and old park area is now occupied by goats, with viewing /seating area. All round good afternoon.

I absolutely love this little farm, so does my little boy. There's a good variety of animals and a cafe which serves really nice food. There are play areas and the farm often has events on although near in mind it can get very busy on event days and the cafe gets absolutely packed!

Great value little farm. Even if you don't stay long you don't feel you've wasted money. Great cafe with homemade food. Can get crowded at peak times. They also have a very reasonable (small) garden Centre for green fingered adults!

Wow found this place on Wikiplaces for kids site great place for children that like being outside! We choose a cold windy day and the site is quite exposed so would recommend wrapping up. We went with another family and paid £5 splitting (family price £10 2 adults 3 children under 2 free.) so great value The farm has lots of different animals donkeys, shetlands, pigs, sheep, alpaca, rabbits, Guinea pigs and chickens All birds covered but other things to see. There is a outdoor play area with picnic tables with a few ride on toys. Play barn which is very rustic/basic if too cold to play outside has a few games and seats. (Not a soft play) Toilets are nice again basic, they do the job 😂 The cafe is lovely and reasonable priced they offer breakfast/lunch and cakes has an amazing little toy area which was great, plenty of high chairs and lovely and warming after being cold outside. There is outdoor seating for summer. On a summer day I can imagine playing our all day possibly picnic and cold day an hour or 2 is enough then a warm up in the cafe 😊

A small farm with a reasonable selection of animals, there is enough to keep kids happy for a couple of hours. There is a playground and an old tractor they can climb on. The cafe is nice and reasonably priced.

Great children's farm with the usual range of petting animals. Outside play park suitable for 3 years plus. Lovely cafe just before the entrance to the farm, which has a good children's and adults menu, highchairs and inside and outside seating and good changing facitilies. Reasonable value for money. Love it!
